(Senior) Software Engineer, Integrations & Plugins
Join Hoxhunt and build a purposeful product that defends companies from cybercrime, help support the cyber skills training for 4m+ users to make the world more cyber secure - in a human centric way.
Our mission and why it matters
We’re on a mission to make humans the strongest security layer in every organization.
As cyber threats grow more sophisticated, human risk remains one of the biggest vulnerabilities - and traditional awareness training isn’t enough.
As a rapidly growing multi-product company powered by six dedicated product teams, we take a comprehensive approach: combining AI-driven personalization, real threat detection, and behavioral science to create robust security ecosystems. We don't just simulate risks; we build the tools that actively protect real people and organizations every single day.
Why this role matters
This role sits within a team that builds the backbone of our real threat analysis, remediation, and inbox security systems. The team is not starting from scratch, but evolving into a new phase, gradually expanding its focus toward integrations alongside its existing threat-related capabilities. This context is key. You will be working in the middle of established systems while helping shape how the integration work continues to evolve.
As a Software Engineer, you will focus on products that deal with real threats as well as integrations and plugins. Your mission is to strengthen our integration capabilities and modernize how our platform connects with customer environments and external security tools. You will work on critical plugins that serve as the main touchpoint for end users reporting threats. By building seamless connections between our systems and complex enterprise environments, you help ensure that our customers’ mailboxes stay clean, safe, and protected.
What you’ll own and drive
Build and Deliver threat capabilities, critical integrations and plugins that connect Hoxhunt’s systems with major email providers and enterprise security tools.
Own integration projects end-to-end, taking new concepts all the way through to deployment and maintenance.
Collaborate with product and security engineers to guarantee flawless data flow and an intuitive user experience.
Improve existing plugin architecture, modernizing legacy systems to ensure scalability.
Partner with the broader engineering team to continuously elevate our processes and culture.
Support both integration and threat analysis areas flexibly during the team’s current transition phase.
What success looks like
This role sits within a team evolving across two fronts: strengthening our threat and inbox defense capabilities while expanding into integrations and plugins. Success in this role means being adaptable and proactive, contributing to both areas while helping the team grow its integration capabilities alongside its existing product strengths.
In your first three months, you will onboard smoothly, get hands-on with our Node.js and TypeScript ecosystem, contribute to smaller integration projects, and start exploring our plugin systems while building an understanding of our existing threat and inbox defense capabilities.
By month six, you will independently lead integration projects from start to finish, proactively improve engineering processes, and contribute to shaping the technical direction of the integrations subgroup, while continuing to support and evolve the team’s broader product capabilities.
What makes you thrive here
You have:
Strong full stack development skills with Node, TypeScript, and React
Experience building and delivering SaaS products, ideally focusing on integrations and plugins
A product oriented mindset and a strong focus on solving real user problems
The ability to navigate ambiguity and take ownership in a lean and fast moving environment
Comfort working with both new and existing systems
An AI native mindset with experience or strong interest in building software using agent based systems
An interest in designing systems where agents can work effectively rather than writing every line of code yourself
A way of thinking in feedback loops, iteration, and continuous improvement of how software gets built
Who you’ll work and learn with
You will be joining one of our six specialized product teams in a highly collaborative and supportive group that values autonomy alongside cross-functional teamwork. We embrace a product-first and AI-positive mindset, seeing AI as a tool to enhance our creativity and efficiency. You will work alongside engineers and security operators who take initiative, thrive in ambiguity, and are just as passionate about refining how the team works together as they are about what they build.
